*2 games a week.
* Advance times are on Wednesday at 6pm and Sunday at 10am (both times give or take an hour). If I forget, you can email me to remind me. My Blackberry gives me email.
* Since the playoffs involve far fewer teams and are more easily scheduled, we will play the entire playoff season in less than 2 weeks.
* No cheese. Pure sim. There will be some minor rules, but if you need to look at them in order to play sim, you are probably in the wrong league. No rubbing in the score/going for it on 4th and long on your own side of the field when your up by a TD. Had to say it.
*Free for all free agency. It's too much of a pain to try to manage it.
*Trading - There will be a trade deadline of Week 10. Once we advance to week 11, there will be no more trades allowed. Until the deadline, you may complete 5 trades. Multiplayer trades and multi team trades still count as one trade.
*League balancing policy/Mandatory cuts:
Following the Super Bowl, there will be the following mandatory cuts:
The Super Bowl winner must cut:
3 players rated 80+
2 players rated 70+
2 players rated 60+
The Super Bowl loser must cut:
2 players rated 80+
2 players rated 70+
2 players rated 60+
The loser's of both conference championship games must cut:
2 players rated 80+
1 player rated 70+
2 players rated 60+
All other playoff teams that did not advance to the conference championship game must cut:
1 player rated 80+
1 player rated 70+
2 players rated 60+
Any team that finishes .500 or above must cut:
1 player rated 70+
2 players rated 60+
This will leave a player pool of about 70 players. These players will be entered into a "Parity Draft" where ALL teams can participate.
Parity Draft lottery:
Teams will be given odds based on their point differential during the regular season. The team that has the highest negative margin (for instance: 140 pts scored, 400 pts allowed) will receive the best chance to receive the first pick in the Parity Draft.
The lottery will work as follows...
- The worst team in the league will be given 20 pieces of paper in a hat with the team name on it.
- The next worst team in the league will be given 15 pieces of paper in the hat.
- The third worst team will be given 12 pieces of paper in the hat.
- 4th - 10 pieces in the hat.
- 5th - 8 pieces in the hat.
- 6th - 7 pieces in the hat.
- 7th - 6 pieces
- 8th - 5 pieces
- 9th - 4 pieces
- 10th - 3 pieces
- 11th through 18th - 2 pieces each
- All other teams receive 1 piece of paper in the hat.
All other teams eligible (non-playoff teams) will receive 1 piece of paper in the hat.
The Parity draft order will be in snake order, meaning the first pick of the first round picks last in the second round.
After the second round, the remaining players (probably less than 7) will be rewarded to the Ragin'Alpaca Sportmen of the Year (the reward given to the owner's that stick around even when they and their team suck).
The Parity draft and lottery will occur after the Superbowl on the league chat room. I will control the hat picking. Sorry guys, you will just have to trust me.
If you can not make it to the Parity draft, please submit a draft list to someone who will be there. If you do not, you will be given the highest player available based on overall rating. If there is a tie in overall ratings, you will be given the player whose last name comes first in the alphabet.
*The college draft will be held online. For this reason, there can be no trading of draft picks. This is because if you trade someone a draft pick and you don't show up to the draft, you can't pick the player that they wanted. Big mess. I decided to do the online draft so that the draft would serve as a reward to those that showed up.
* Trash talking is totally acceptable. In fact, it's encouraged! However, if you are verbally abusive you will be removed from the league, no questions asked. If you don't know the difference between trash talk and verbal abuse, once again you might have the wrong league.
* Lastly, while I want to establish a sense of community by having us all meet on a certain day, life doesn't always work like that. YOU MAY PLAY YOUR GAME ON ANY DAY IF YOU MUST! However, if you do not play your game, and you don't inform the league or the opponent on the message board that you will be absent, you will be booted with no questions asked and not re-admitted. No one has time to track you down. Furthermore, if you repeatedly miss games, even giving notice and taking the proper steps in communicating your absence, you will be removed from the league. This league is for busy, but courteous adults ONLY!
